At Goshen Global Vision, we believe, climate change mitigation and adaptation strategies and policies cannot be complete without the involvement of the future generation who are going to take up this mantle to bring a broad smile on mother Earth’s face! Our focus has been to involve youth and children to develop their passion in conservation as part of the journey to be environmental stewards!
In the implementation of our project “Agricultural Landscapes Restoration Projects Funded by TerraFund for AFR100. 2nd year into implementation, we have distributed and planted 200,000 native and fruit trees in cocoa farms to help in climate smart cocoa agroforestry in both Daboase and Elubo cocoa districts, Subri and Ankasa Forest Reserves in the Western Region.
This time, the school children in the Akroffi cocoa community had capacity building in linning, pegging, and planting of trees around their football field. The chief, elders, and the whole community joined in the planting amid drumming and dancing. To appreciate their effort, over 75 pupils were presented with Claire bags, pens, pencils, erasers, and snacks and encouraged to take their education seriously.
Our Executive Director, Mary Perpetua Kwakuyi graced the occasion, sharing valuable insights and motivating the students to embrace the art of tree planting. It’s not just a task, it’s a habit that will shape a brighter, greener future for all. Let’s stand with these bright minds as they nurture their education and the environment hand in hand!
“In few years, we can play and watch football under shade without the direct scorching of the sun.” said by one of the pupils.
Long Live AFR100, Long live Goshen Global Vision”.
