Goshen Global Vision is making waves with our urban and peri-urban forestry project in Sekondi Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly!
We’re not just planting trees; we’re fostering women empowerment, financial stability, and leadership in our communities. As part of our efforts, we’ve collaborated with the Social Welfare and Community Development Department of the Effia-Kwesimintsim Municipal Assembly to establish VSLAs for farmer groups.
Meet our incredible partners: Whindo Farmers, Assakae Market Women Association, Greenland Farmers, Lafira Bumbum Women Group, and Anaji Fie Farmers. They’ve undergone training on financial management and the importance of savings, culminating in the formation of VSLAs.
But wait, there’s more! Our group heads went on a learning visit to an established VSLA in Esuboe, soaking up insights on group operations, leadership election, and organizational proceedings.
Now, the exciting news! With funding from the U.S. Forest Service and in collaboration with EKMA’s Social Welfare, #GGV has inaugurated two VSLAs within the Effia-Kwesimintsim Municipal AssemblyβWhindo Farmers and Assakae Market Women VSLA groups.
A huge shoutout to Mr. Francis Quayson and Madam Sadia Alimatu for their invaluable assistance in making this happen!
