Volunteer Mapping and Monitoring of already planted trees
In order to ensure the survival of planted trees at the five sites in the Western Region namely, the 12km road median from Nkroful Junction to Apollo traffic lights, EKMA office, office of the Ghana Education Service (GES), Sekondi Youth Center, and Nkotompo beach.
GGV collaborated with urban greening volunteers to conduct routine monitoring and maintenance of previously out-planted seedlings. This involved weeding around the shrubs and young seedlings and ringing to reduce weed competition and the use of GPS tools to collect spatial data on trees planted.
Way to go!
