Goshen Global Vision had commenced the implementation of the second phase of the Agricultural and Forest Landscapes Reforestation Project, funded by TerraFund for AFR100.
The objective of this project which is community-led project contributing to SDG 1,5,13 and 15 to increase tree cover, mitigate climate change, transfer reforestation skills to women and youth, soil health, food security, livelihood diversification for cocoa farmer for household income and restore ecosystem services.
Goshen Global Vision in the 1st quarter has built capacities of women and youth in Akrofi, Sekyere Krobo and nearby communities in; preparation of germination beds, seed identification and broadcasting, watering, best transplanting techniques, nursery management practices and preventing pest and diseases at the nursery. This year 100,000 native and fruit trees have been raised in 11 community nurseries in the Daboase and Elubo cocoa districts in the Western Region.
